The Sony PXW-Z280 is a professional 4K XDCAM camcorder designed for broadcast, news gathering, documentaries, live events, corporate production and other demanding professional video applications. It combines a 3-chip 1/2-inch Exmor R CMOS sensor system with professional recording formats, extensive manual controls and a powerful integrated zoom lens.
The camera can record 4K at up to 60p and supports 10-bit 4:2:2 recording, including XAVC-Intra for high-quality professional production workflows. It can also record 4K and HD simultaneously, providing flexibility for production and backup workflows.
A major advantage of the PXW-Z280 is its integrated 17× optical zoom lens, covering approximately 30.3–515mm in 35mm-equivalent focal length. The lens features dedicated manual focus, zoom and iris rings, providing precise control for professional shooting. A built-in variable ND filter from 1/4 to 1/128 further helps control exposure in changing lighting conditions.
