Its bright f/1.8 aperture provides good low-light performance and strong background separation, while the 50mm focal length and 46.8° angle of view make it suitable for portraits, street photography, everyday shooting, and landscapes. It features a quiet STM autofocus motor, face and eye detection support, an 11-blade diaphragm, AF/MF switch, and USB-C port for firmware updates. The optical design uses 11 elements in 9 groups, including two aspherical, two high-refraction, and one ED element.
